INFORMATION ABOUT FLAMENCO IN NEW YORK

The New York Flamenco Festival
World Music Institute is one of the main organizers of the flamenco festivals in
New York City. Usually held in October/November and February/March of each year,
the festivals showcase many famous and up-and-coming flamenco artists from Spain.
In the past years artists such as Paco de Lucia, Carmen Linares, Estrella Morente,
Miguel Poveda, Sara Baras, Ballet Flamenco Eva Yarbabuena, Son de la Frontera,
Diego el Cigala, Los Farruco and Tomatito have performed at the festival.
Shows for the Fall 2012 program include:
Oct.6: Fiesta Jerez, Oct.7: El Carpeta y La Farruca, Nov.3: Diego el Cigala.

Jas's Midi Hand Drum Rhythm Generator
A free online rhythm generator that allows you to generate rhythms with any number of
accented and non-accented beats. For example, a DttDttDtDtDt will provide you with one
of the main compás patterns for bulería. You can adjust the tempo (40 to 300) and
download the rhythms you create in midi format.
